Wearing a huge padded Sumo Wrestler grapple with your opponent and shove them out of the ring. Hilarious!
After the initial bravado and posturing, including a round of wedgies, don the suits, "shikiri" (eyeball) your opponent with an icy glare, and at the sound of "Hakkyoi" commence your fight as an inflatably assisted battle warrior.
Two teams are created and a member of each team battles it out in a Sumo match. Each game winner (there are 3 games to a bout) receives a point. The team with the highest score at the end is declared the winner.
Rules
- You can not step out of the ring
- The object of Sumo is to push the opponent out of the dohyo (ring) or to cause the opponent to touch outside the ring with any part of their body other than the feet. This is accomplished by pushing, shoving or ramming.
- Wrestlers at the top level are allowed up to 20 seconds for Shikiri, which is the crouching, stamping and glaring before the match.
- Ceremony is part of the show. First the wrestlers stomp their feet, clap their hands, stare at the opponent and make false starts. This is an essential part of the ritual.
